While we invest in different companies, our approach remains the same. Our key principles are the following:
Active ownership
Our background is as businesspeople and entrepreneurs - not financial engineers. The aim is to build strong market leaders with long-term financial success. We focus on the key drivers and issues facing our companies and engage in open and direct collaboration with the management team and fellow shareholders. We will sit on the Supervisory Board of our companies and while we ensure that the executive management has full ownership of the business plan, we remain a very active sparring partner to them, providing input and challenging management. We strive to ensure that our companies take advantage of the opportunities in the market, but we also support them through difficult times.
Long term value approach
We are focused on long-term creation of shareholder value as opposed to short-term gains. Together with management and fellow shareholders, our ambition is to create strong and successful market leaders. This is not done overnight but requires hard work, professionalism and persistence. Therefore our holding period is flexible and we can stay for the long term when companies continue to have strong upside potential.
Access to know how (best practices)
We ensure that our companies get access to the highest level of international know-how and to the best practices in their respective sectors. We have a wide network of industry experts that have gathered extensive operational experience while managing some of the largest European companies in our focus sectors. Our experts provide, either at Board level or as consultants, constant support to our managers in assessing strategic options for the company, understanding operational challenges and solutions and identifying growth opportunities.
Invest in people
We understand that people are behind the value creation. A good strategy is a key to success but we know that more important are the people who execute it. Bilding a solid organization, with skilled and motivated management and employees, is a core focus of Oresa, following an investment. Over the last 10 years, our companies have recruited and trained over 5,000 employees. We invest in companies...but in fact we invest in people.
Open and direct communication
We are accessible and straightforward and we encourage our companies to be the same for their partners and employees. We always keep the communication lines opened with our fellow shareholders and managers. We support a direct and incisive approach and a business-focused working environment.
Corporate citizen/social responsibility
We take pride in working in an honest and straightforward way with all parties. We believe that we, as a team and a company, have a role to play in supporting good business practices and expect that our portfolio companies have the same attitude to their business partners, employees, customers and suppliers.
